Our Beliefs

(1) The divine inspiration and inerrancy of the Holy Scriptures; their supreme authority, sufficiency and finality in all matters of faith and practice, being the Word of God, 2 Timothy 3:15-17, 2 Peter 1:9-12; the reliability of the New Testament in its testimony to the character and authorship of the Old Testament; and the need of the teaching of the Holy Spirit to a true and spiritual understanding of the whole.

(2) The unity of the Godhead, the divine co-equality of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, 1 John 5:7, Matthew 28:19; the sovereignty of God in creation Genesis 1:1-31, providence Psalm 103:9, Proverbs 19:21, revelation, redemption, Ephesians 1:4-14, Hebrews 9:11,14, and final judgement.

(3) The total depravity of human nature in consequence of the fall in Adam, Genesis 3:1-7, Psalm 51:5, Jeremiah 17:9, and the necessity for regeneration, 1 Peter 1:23, Ephesians 2:1, 5,10.

(4) The true and proper Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ; His virgin birth by the Holy Ghost, Isaiah 9:6, Matthew 1:18-23, Luke 1:26-35; His sinless life; the authority of His teaching; and the infallibility of all His utterances, Matthew 7:29, John 7:15-17,46; His work of atonement on Calvary for sinners of mankind by His substitutionary sufferings and death, Isaiah 53:4-6, Matthew 20:20, Romans 5:6-11; His bodily resurrection from the dead, Matthew 28:1-6, Luke 24:36-53, 1 Corinthians 15:4; and His ascension into Heaven, Mark 16:19, Acts 1:9-11; and His present mediatorial intercession for His people at the right hand of the Father; and His endless reign, Hebrews 7:25, 9:24.

(5) The justification of the repentant sinner solely by grace through faith in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and in Him alone; and His eternal security, Isaiah 45:25, 53:11, John 3:16-18, 36, Ephesians 2:8-9.

(6) The necessity of the work of the Holy Spirit in regeneration, John 3:5-8, 6:63, Titus 3:5, conversion, John 16:7-14, Acts 3:19, and sanctification, Galatians 5:16, Ephesians 3:16; also in ministry and worship, Acts 4:31, John 4:24, Romans 8:26.

(7) The universal Church, the body of which Christ is the Head, embracing all the redeemed, called by God through the gospel, born of the Spirit, and justified by faith, Matthew 16:18, Ephesians 1:22, 3:10,21, Hebrews 12:23; the local Church comprising such believers, as the expression of the universal Church, Matthew 18:17, Acts 11:22, Romans 16:1,5, 16; the fellowship between such Churches manifesting the unity of the body of Christ, Acts 15:1-4, 22-31, 1 Corinthians 16:1-3, 2 Corinthians 8:19,23.

(8) The ordinances of Baptism, Matthew 28:19, and the Lord's Supper, 1 Corinthians 11:23-32, as being instituted by our Lord Jesus Christ, but not in Baptism as conveying regenerating grace, nor in the Lord's Supper as being a sacrifice for sin, nor involving any change in the substance of the bread and wine.

(9) The personal return of our Lord Jesus Christ in glory, Matthew 16:27, John 14:3, Acts 1:11, 1 Corinthians 1:7, Revelation 22:7, 12.

(10) The resurrection of the body, John 5:28-29, 1 Corinthians 15:20-23; the judgement of the world by out Lord Jesus Christ, Matthew 25:31-34, Acts 17:31, with the eternal blessedness of the righteous, 1 Corinthians 15:53, 1 Peter 1:4, Revelation 22:3-4, and the eternal conscious punishment of the wicked, Matthew 25:41, 46, 2 Thessalonians 1:9.
