Crosslanes Chapel was built during the 19th Century by its first Minister, The Rev. Arthur Mist, at his own expense. On additional land he had two cottages built, with capital put into a Trust for more houses to be built in the early 20th Century. Today there are five properties, including the Chapel. The four houses are let out to tenants who are members of the Church. There is also a field adjacent to the Chapel and a graveyard alongside.

We use the adjoining field variously:- as an overflow car park, venue for evangelistic outreach endeavours (cream teas in the summer; bonfire and fireworks in November) as well as welcoming other churches to use it as a picnic site for their outings, and a campsite with some facilities (including a kitchen and toilets) for friends of Crosslanes Chapel. There is a future possibility of a shower being added.

Much maintenance work has been completed on the properties over recent years (including the renewal of doors and windows), although soffits and gutterings are still awaiting renewal. An electrical survey was carried out at the end of last year on all the properties and work recommended was completed in the spring of this year – we give thanks to the Lord for His provision in this matter. We consider now the outstanding material needs of the Chapel are the renewal of the southwest windows (which are now after many years in need of replacement), and a new floor in the hall adjoining the Chapel as it has begun to give way in some areas.

Our desire is to be wise and good stewards of all that the Lord, through The Rev. Mist has provided, ensuring as we can, that future generations can benefit from his tremendous vision of providing a place of worship in the village, as well as affordable dwellings for local Chapel members. We do value your prayers, and if you feel able to support this work financially, it would be much appreciated (please see link to the Gift Aid Box below).
